Construction Applications Water Storage

THE SMART WAY TO BUILD
Half the cost, double the strength and twice as fast.

This makes this method the ideal choice whenever water storage projects are being considered. A FinnBUILDER Reservoir is an effective long term solution. The FinnBUILDER Circular is the ideal application for building Reservoirs. The FinnBUILDER reservoir technology was established in 1946 and Farmers have found it to be a robust solution for water storage. They have found FinnBUILDER reservoirs to be: –

Very strong build at 35 to 40 MPa concrete strength to ensure no leaking. Bricks are generally manufactured at 5 – 7 MPa.
Easy to use relatively easy building process. The Circular is packaged with a Detailed Construction Guide that gives a detailed explanation of the process.
Cost effective half the cost of building with brick.
No Plastering panel release leaves a surface that can be finished successfully with a plaster skim incorporating a mortar water proofing agent.

DIMENSIONS

There are two Circular moulds available:

  • 5 meter diameter (red)
  • 8 meter diameter (black)

In addition the Circular is adjustable to build walls both 220 mm and 150 mm thick. The mould is 600 mm long, 220 mm high and weighs approximately 18 kgs.

It is advisable to build your Reservoirs no higher than 2,2 metres in height. This will restrict water pressure when full and reduce the risk of leaks. Vertical reinforcing steel is detailed for heights greater than 1,5 meters.

OWN SOIL

Many people who build with FinnBUILDER out in the country, are able to use either their own soil, or suitable building sand that they are able to find in their immediate vicinity. In this way they are able to build at very low cost since their only material cost is cement, stone and steel re-enforcing. The Detailed Construction Guide includes a simple soil test that will confirm the suitability of your local soil.
